Outfit of the Day March 26

I went to the mall today to get all of my spring shopping done. It’s “warm” today – about 50 degrees – so I didn’t need a huge jacket or anything. This outfit is easy to throw together but it looks really polished. I just love it! I actually bought the hat today and threw it on as soon as I left the store. It complements my outfit nicely!

Happy first day of spring!

In honor of the “holiday,” I decided to break out my favorite sundress, cowboy boots, and Lilly Pulitzer bow from Bows and Kites. Also, check out my gorgeous Kappa Alpha Theta pendant created by one of my favorite people in the world, Donna. Check out my other post all about her jewelry and buy beautiful handmade sorority pendants like this one here.

This is one of my favorite outfits of all time. Comfy, cute, and playful!

Obsessed with Faith Christine (plus a discount!)

Amazing dress from Faith Christine Boutique

Amazing dress from Faith Christine Boutique

This stunning orange dress is from one of my favorite online boutiques, Faith Christine. Their entire inventory looks like it was taken out of my dream closet – pretty lace, pastels, and just a hint of country flair. The owner, Faith Hoye, is the cutest person ever! She has a shirt that says “Thug Wife” and posts pictures on her Instagram of her two golden retrievers Lucky and Irish. How adorable is that?

Anyways, she was beyond generous to send me this dress to style (buy it here!). The color is gorgeous, I can’t get enough of it! The details like the crochet bell sleeves and bow-tie back take my breath away. I really love how you can style this dress so many different ways as well. In these pictures, I made it a little more fancy, but it has that country feel that allows it to be dressed down with a pair of cowboy boots. I also think it would look so cute with a brown floppy hat, turquoise necklace, and brown wedges!

Be sure to follow Faith Christine on Instagram and check out their Facebook page!

I’m so excited to share that my readers will get a 15% off discount when they shop at Faith Christine Boutique and use the discount code Madeleine15!!! It was so hard for me not to buy everything there, so good luck ;) Hurry too because they’re having a HUGE winter sale right now!

Happy Pi Day!

It’s also casual Friday at my office which means there’s donuts! I’m re-thinking wearing a skirt and tight shirt today because I know I’m going to stuff my face. I wish I had worn my stretchy pants (read that in a Nacho Libre voice). UPDATE (as of 11:38 am): I stuffed my face with a donut bigger than it.

Anyways, I love this outfit. I used to be so against combat boots with skirts, but I’m warming up to the idea. I never dress “edgy” like this, so it was fun for me! I’m usually all about bright colors and looking more preppy.

I’m also wearing hair extensions. These are my Jessica Simpson “HairDo” 23″ wavy extensions by Ken Paves. I’m going to do a review later comparing them to my Bellamis that arrived today, but I never actually wear these extensions. I just felt like wearing them for the picture. I honestly don’t feel comfortable wearing my HairDo extensions in public because I feel like they will fall off and the texture really doesn’t match my hair. So anyways, I took them off after I took the pictures!

I could not wake up this morning for whatever reason! I went for the laid-back look today. Can you tell I got ready in 30 minutes? I’m sneaky that way! Since I woke up late, I didn’t have time to shower – so I threw my hair up in a sock bun and called it good. I pulled on my favorite Hudson jeans and t-shirt blouse from Nordstrom. These are two of my wardrobe staples that I wear ALL the time. Having a t-shirt blouse like this one is perfect because you can easily dress it up and down. It looks way more polished than the classic cotton t-shirt! I adore these Hudson jeans because they are the perfect length despite my little, short legs. The hug my curves in the best way possible and have lasted me so long. I wish I had them in a million pairs! I topped everything off with a colorful scarf my good friend Nikki gave me for my birthday and some hot pink Revlon lip stain. Slipping into my Steve Madden flats, I was set for the day!

Necklace from The Flourish Boutique

Today’s outfit is all about having a little fun while still looking professional. I adore this lavender blouse from White Plum. It’s elegant and light – a nice lady-like touch. The statement necklace from The Flourish Boutique adds a fun pop without being too distracting. I firmly believe every woman needs a black skater skirt in her closet and this one from Nordstrom is the perfect essential. You can throw it on with almost everything!

Without Bellamis

It’s finally beginning to feel like spring time! In honor of that, I broke out some of my favorite spring pieces today. I love white jeans because they brighten up any outfit. When paired with bright colors like this blouse from White Plum, it all makes for a fun and happy look. I paired it with some brown strappy wedges from Kohl’s and this stunning statement necklace from The Flourish Boutique. I love how the necklace provides a little sparkle and really polishes off the outfit!

Ignore the phone in my pocket! I forgot I had it there. Whoops!

I love White Plum because they have really gorgeous items that are comfortable. This blouse can be easily dressed up or down, yet it’s not constricting. It’s perfect for work or going to brunch with a girlfriend on the weekend. They even have a whole collection of adorable print leggings (I mean, who doesn’t love leggings!). The Flourish Boutique has really beautiful pieces that transition well between day and night, which I love. I’m all about versatility! Especially when you’re a broke college student like me, you look for anything that has multiple uses. That’s why I adore this necklace – it’s fancy enough to be worn at a cocktail party, but subtle enough to be worn to work or running errands. If I wore this to work on a Friday, I could easily just throw on a dress and some heels for going out that night. Outfit of the Day March 6th Outfit of the Day March 6th Outfit of the Day March 6th

OOTD

Outfit of the Day: Feb. 22nd

Today was all about getting things done. Between organizing my blog, cleaning my room, and working on homework, my plate was full. I woke up at 10am and worked on organizing myself for my blog posts coming up until 2ish. Then I cleaned my room. At 4pm, I rode my bike to Dodge and was there for FOUR HOURS working on one project for my desktop publishing class. Don’t get me wrong, it’s super fun and I love it, it’s just hard being a perfectionist because I spend hours on one project. It all turned out great! So at 8pm, I rode my bike back and now I’m writing this post! Tonight will definitely be a Netflix, soup, and jammies night. Crazy, right?

Since I was running around today, I wanted to be comfortable and cute. I decided on some boyfriend jeans, a baggy t-shirt, sandals, and a chunky knit scarf. Boyfriend jeans are seriously the best invention ever – they feel like sweatpants! And God bless Urban Outfitters for making baggy t-shirts in style! I was comfy, cozy without looking sloppy! The bright colors made me happy while I muddled through my mundane tasks.
