Outfit of the Day April 3rdThis incredible kimono from Jane is the perfect spring addition to my wardrobe. The bright colors and floral print brighten up any outfit. The beautiful chiffon fabric feels light and fun. I also adore this Kappa Alpha Theta necklace from Tomi’s Treasures – an Etsy shop that I found. It’s so dainty and stunning – I love it!

Outfit of the Day April 3rd

Outfit of the Day April 3rdI want to talk briefly about Tomi’s Treasures. Tomi was incredible to work with. She was so interested in hearing about my life as a college woman. She worked so hard to provide me with jewelry that I wanted. I will post later about another amazing necklace she sent me (it’s in the shape of Washington state!). She went above and beyond to make it for me. I would highly recommend checking out her Etsy shop full of beautiful Greek jewelry. She even has hand-stamped bottle openers with fraternity letters on them! Anyways, I would just recommend you check her shop out for big/little gifts or a something special for a friend.

Spring Fashion Haul

FASHION HAUL TIME!

I finally had the opportunity to go spring wardrobe shopping. My friends all make fun of me for this, but I’m addicted to business casual. There’s no harm in that, right?

“You can never be overdressed or overeducated.” – Oscar Wilde

Everything you see in these pictures is from Forever 21 except the sunglasses, which are from Nordstrom.

How I plan on styling these items:
  • The black crop sweater looks amazing with button-down collared shirts. It will be great for those cooler Seattle mornings, especially when I’m running around downtown for my internship this summer.
  • The navy striped crop top looks divine with the peach asymmetrical skirt. I love navy and peach together! The stripes combined with the floral fabric pattern of the skirt are a fun way to mix patterns without clashing.
  • I also love the asymmetrical skirt because I can see it being paired with a basic white tank and nude blazer. Polished off with some basic nude pumps, it will be the perfect business-casual outfit.
  • I died when I saw this black floppy hat! If you read my outfit of the day post from March 26th, you can see me wearing it already. I was so eager to wear it that I put it on as soon as I walked out of the store. It’s such a simple way to add a touch of mystery and high-fashion to any outfit. Oh, and it can cover up a bad hair day like nothing else! (but pshhhh, I never have those…)
  • I usually hate paisley, but this black and white skort makes it look so elegant. Yes, you heard right – it’s a skort. We all wore them when we were little so when we were playing outside and our skirts flew up, nobody would see our panties. Children-at-heart adults rejoice: they’re making a steady comeback in a more classy fashion. I’m so excited to wear this with a black blazer for my internship. It’s stylish, but not too distracting or informal.
  • The blue crop top is such a lovely color, it’s hard to resist. It also is made out of chiffon, so you can easily dress it up. Since high-waist pants and skirts (and skorts!) are really in style right now, it’s important to have some dressier crop tops that don’t show your belly.
  • Finally, I had been wanting a pair of black, wayfarer-style sunglasses for a while now. I found these at Nordstrom and was shocked to see they were a steal at only $12! They go with everything and will be the perfect accessory as the sun starts to come out more.

Whew! Overall, I spent $112. Now that may seem like a lot, but for two really nice skirts, two crop tops, a sweater, a hat, and sunglasses, I’d say that’s a steal. For reviving my wardrobe for the spring and summer, I’d say I did a pretty fantastic job bargain hunting. These pieces are all very versatile and I can’t wait to start wearing them!

Happy first day of spring!

In honor of the “holiday,” I decided to break out my favorite sundress, cowboy boots, and Lilly Pulitzer bow from Bows and Kites. Also, check out my gorgeous Kappa Alpha Theta pendant created by one of my favorite people in the world, Donna. Check out my other post all about her jewelry and buy beautiful handmade sorority pendants like this one here.

This is one of my favorite outfits of all time. Comfy, cute, and playful!

Without Bellamis

It’s finally beginning to feel like spring time! In honor of that, I broke out some of my favorite spring pieces today. I love white jeans because they brighten up any outfit. When paired with bright colors like this blouse from White Plum, it all makes for a fun and happy look. I paired it with some brown strappy wedges from Kohl’s and this stunning statement necklace from The Flourish Boutique. I love how the necklace provides a little sparkle and really polishes off the outfit!

Ignore the phone in my pocket! I forgot I had it there. Whoops!

I love White Plum because they have really gorgeous items that are comfortable. This blouse can be easily dressed up or down, yet it’s not constricting. It’s perfect for work or going to brunch with a girlfriend on the weekend. They even have a whole collection of adorable print leggings (I mean, who doesn’t love leggings!). The Flourish Boutique has really beautiful pieces that transition well between day and night, which I love. I’m all about versatility! Especially when you’re a broke college student like me, you look for anything that has multiple uses. That’s why I adore this necklace – it’s fancy enough to be worn at a cocktail party, but subtle enough to be worn to work or running errands. If I wore this to work on a Friday, I could easily just throw on a dress and some heels for going out that night. Outfit of the Day March 6th Outfit of the Day March 6th Outfit of the Day March 6th

About Warby Parker

Warby Parker is an eyewear company with a mission to not only sell affordable and stylish glasses, but to also give back by donating one pair of glasses to someone in need for every pair sold. Originally created by four friends, Warby Parker’s innovative business strategy has resulted in a memorable and quirky company personality, a strong sense of corporate responsibility, and high-quality products. From their authentic desire to help others to their marketing strategies like the home try-on program, it’s no wonder Fast Company has named them the number one most innovative company in retail. Read the entire article here.

Needless to say, when Warby Parker reached out to me to write a post about their Spring and Palm Canyon Collections, I jumped at the opportunity.

At-Home Try-On Program

To learn more about their glasses, I ordered 5 pairs (3 frames, 2 sunglasses) through their at-home try-on program. This is one of my favorite qualities of Warby Parker. Their at-home try-on program allows you to select five frames you want to try on, they send them to you (their shipping is lightning fast), you try them on, and ship them back for free after five days.

They have a hashtag #WarbyHomeTryOn where people tag pictures of themselves wearing their five choices and people can weigh-in on what looks best (including Warby Parker!). I could go on and on about what an amazing concept this is. I highly recommend participating in this program even if you do not end up purchasing a pair. It’s easy, fun, and free!

Warby Parker Spring Collection

Warby Parker’s Spring Collection

All of the frames and sunglasses I ordered through the at-home try-on program are part of Warby Parker’s Spring Collection. With eight new shapes and six new colors, there’s a little something for everybody. It’s such a whimsical collection, I love it!

I surprised myself because I actually loved every single pair I tried on. Who would have thought a bright blue frame would look good? Personally, I liked their “Finch” frames and “Lowry” sunglasses the most. Their over-sized qualities made my nose look thinner and smaller (always a plus) and were fun enough without distracting from the rest of my face.

Warby Parker’s Palm Canyon Collection

Unfortunately, the Palm Canyon Collection frames were not available through the at-home try-on program. Regardless, I still love this collection! It’s extremely light, refreshing, and playful. Inspired by Palm Springs, each pair makes you yearn for summertime – or at least spring break!

My favorite design concept of this collection is the light-wash wood on the “Wheeler” sunglasses and the fact that no two pairs in this collection are alike! The warm, resort feeling of this collection will brighten up any outfit.

Warby Parker not only produces amazing eyewear, but they have such a great mission backing them. I’m excited to see where this company goes from here. They’re really going to make an impact in the world!

Please check out their other frames in other collections as well! I strongly encourage you to participate in their free at-home try-on program even if it’s just for fun!

Warby Parker, you’re doing it right.

I was not paid for this review. No samples were provided to me by Warby Parker. All opinions are my own.
