My Natural Hair

Natural Hair

I can honestly say I am addicted to my hair extensions and well, my hair in general. If my hair does not look perfect, I feel like I’m having an off day. That being said, I have been trying really hard to embrace my natural hair lately. With the help of DevaCurl “no-poo” and conditioner, I have been able to fully embrace my mess of curls.

I wore my hair natural for the first time in a while yesterday and received so many compliments – I was shocked. Floored, actually. I could not believe that people loved something I was most self-conscious about! Sometimes, you have to just embrace your natural beauty and it will pay off big time. I’ve never felt more confident about my hair!

I encourage every woman reading this to think about what you are most self-conscious about your appearance. What do you do to alter it? Can you challenge yourself for ONE day to leave yourself 100% completely natural? I know it’s scary, but I think you will be surprised at how amazing you feel.

I love getting dolled up just as much as the next girl, trust me. It is just nice to take a break every once in a while to reflect.

Comment below if you challenged yourself to be “au naturale” or what your absolute FAVORITE aspect of your appearance is! ♥

I think your hair is beautiful! Shoot, I wish I had curly hair like that! As someone who tries to go as natural as possible, I always love see when other girls do the same.

    • Thank you SO much Kriselle! It’s definitely hard to leave hair natural especially with the pressures of looking perfect 100% of the time.

  • My natural hair texture is a lot like yours, and I know how difficult it can be to find the perfect products that make it look (and feel!) more manageable. When you do find a routine that works, however, embracing your natural hair can become empowering and make you feel much more confident in the way that you were made.
I’ve been wearing my hair natural a lot more recently, and it’s great. It takes me much less time to get ready, and I don’t have to worry as much about it staying perfect all day. Plus, when you DO blow it out or heat-style it, the hair is so much softer and less dead than it would be if you continued to torture it every single day. I think it’s beautiful, and I’m glad you do, too!

    • YES Melissa, I could not agree more! My hair has been so damaged over the years from heat styling and I find when I leave my hair natural even just for a week, it is significantly softer and stronger. It feels so good and much less stressful to just leave it natural. I’m so glad you’ve found the same!

  • You hair looks amazing natural! I love the wave in it, and length suits you so well!!! I was the exact same way – I never left the house without my extensions and just recently I chopped my hair off and have been loving it! I’m glad you are finally feeling comfortable with it! Xo

    • Makayla, your hair looks SO good the length it is right now! I love it! I’m thinking of getting a similar cut for the summer. We’ll see if I have the guts to do it (:

Hi there! Love, love, love this post! I find that even the most self-confident of us girls are self-conscious or ridicule parts of their experience. Some of my self-loving friends absolutely hate their hair, or their thighs, or the way their nose crinkles when they laugh. It’s nice to see someone talking openly and honestly about that vulnerable fear that encases what we’re self conscious about – and that most of the time what we are self conscious about, no one notices or everyone else loves! It’s all “in our head.” (Like, for instance, I, too, tend to dislike my hair. I have very fine hair and it isn’t thick, so I’ve never been able to do much with it. I can be super self conscious about it. Yet, I try to resist the urge to get extensions or do a perm or anything like that, because I know that it is just my own insecurity. Trying to force myself to embrace that fear and vulnerability ;). ) Your hair looks beautiful both ways. Now you have just doubled the fun you can have when you’re dolled up! :)

Not sure if you’re interested or not, but I’ve nominated you
for a Liebster Award. I’m awful at figuring out how many followers
people have, but I think you’re under the 200/300 max. If you’d like to
